We love this Secret Space because…
Not only is it quite simply stunning, but it is also the birthplace of Dick Whittington. An historical fact that is just part of the fascinating story of this beautifully unique manor house.
Pauntley Court is rather magical. Steeped in history, this colourful property with its stunning formal gardens sits proudly in the glorious Cotswold countryside. Views of which can be enjoyed from all aspects.
The painted exterior reflects the colourful characters who have called this house their home over the centuries. Famously it is the birthplace of Dick Whittington (1352) who went on to be Mayor of London four times. Elinor Fettiplace, whose hand-written recipes from the 1600s were published in 1986, grew up here. Then in 1932, Pauntley Court became the Gloucestershire Home for Wayfarers. Established by the Poet Laureate, John Masefield, who raised the funds to provide this rescue home for destitute young men.
The house exudes a charming ambience from the moment you arrive. Its secluded setting and 10-bedrooms make it a perfect venue for a corporate event that requires the exclusivity of a private estate. The reception rooms are sumptuously decorated with deep comfortable sofas, open fireplaces and exceptional pieces of art throughout. It is ideal for meetings, reception drinks and private dining events with the Ballroom seating up to 24 people.
Not only is attention to detail evident wherever you look, but it is also mirrored in how guests are welcomed and entertained in this tranquil family home. Pauntley Court allows complete flexibility and nothing is too much trouble. It is possible to create events at this venue, which are as exclusive as the house is unique.
The word unique can often be overused but in the case of Pauntley Court, it truly does apply. So, if your event needs a venue that is a real one-off. One that is sure to impress your guests. Look no further.
